Holmes County Safe CommunitiesHolmes County Safe Communities is a multi-agency community coalition that recognizes most injuries as not only preventable, but also predictable – especially motor vehicle injuries. Through the highway Safety Task Force, the coalition is involved in various traffic-related injury prevention activities in the county. These include community education about Amish traffic safety, child car seats, bicycle safety, teen driving safety, seat belts and impaired driving, among many others. Activities include Amish Health and Safety Day, mock crashes and other school-based traffic safety programs, and individual car seat consultations with a certified child passenger safety technician. |
